Masterson’s Pub , located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , brands itself as a fashionable, contemporary hangout, but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I experienced behind its walls was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.

The State of the Venue : Grimy and Disregarded
From the moment I walked in , it was apparent that sanitation was not a priority at this bar . The ground was covered in grime , and a foul smell of uncleaned spills and filthy restrooms permeated the entire venue . With a smell of a mixture of ammonia , old age and sour vomit . The serving zone , which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and litter that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The toilet was in even worse condition — backed up, with a cracked flush mechanism and walls stained in what I can only assume was human excrement .
